In Development

A troubled teenage vampire discovers what it means to be human.

Rufus

Rufus isn’t sure what he is. Hunted, poked and prodded for the last two hundred years, he knows people are always pegging him as this or that. It’s all about what box you fit into. If there really are vampires, Rufus has never met one. Sure he has some quirks. Who doesn’t?

Rufus doesn’t sleep, eat or drink. He doesn’t age or feel the passage of time. He’s a boy and will always remain so. So what if he likes the taste of blood? It’s not like he’s addicted. Rufus can take it or leave it – most of the time.

LEIGH PARISH is the star on one of North America’s most popular TV shows. Beautiful, charismatic…her star’s ascension seems to have no ceiling.

LEIGH PARISH is a burgeoning star from a well known North American TV show. Beautiful and charismatic, Leigh has become the poster child for her clean cut image and her Cinderella-like rise to stardom.

Leigh returns home to her small town, manager in tow, to partake of some local press, but also to reconnect with family and friends. But thereʼs another reason sheʼs there as well.

MAURICE is Leighʼs former boss, back when she worked in a nightclub, long before becoming famous. In his possession is a videotape with Leigh as the star. If distributed, the tape would effectively end Leighʼs career. Maurice knows this and is intent on extorting Leigh for the rest of her life.

With an impending movie offer threatening to announce itself any day, Leigh has a lot to lose.  Leigh will break into the club, retrieve the tape and destroy it. Or so the plan goes…

The Assassination of Gandhi

Combining on the fly footage, interviews and dramatic recreations done in stop motion animation “The Assassination of Gandhi” investigates the Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and the story of his assassin Nathuram Godse through the eyes of Indo-Canadian filmmaker Anand Ramayya.

The story of the The Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi spans over 150 years and is as relevant now as it was in 1948. Though this tragic incident in history took place in India this story of The Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi is told through the eyes of Indo-Canadian film maker Anand Ramayya and connects the struggles of 1948 India to current crisis and struggles facing Canada and the world today.

This story is not just about The Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, it is a story about the transformation of a boy into a zealous fanatical assassin. It is a fable of the power of non-violent resistance, the power of the individual to affect change on a global scale and the vulnerability of youth in volatile world.

It is the story of Mahatma Gandhi but it is also the story of my journey to understand the forces that led to his assassination. The same forces responsible for Mahatma Gandhi’s death continue to promote hatred, perpetuate violence and create a world filled with terror. The same world that I have chosen to raise my children in.
